Build Your Own Shed
If you want to build your own shed there are a few things you need to consider. I can speak from experience here because I built a shed a few years ago and did not have a set of plans, a material list or even an idea of what the final project would look like.
This is not very smart because I spent a lot of money on trial and error not to mention wasted weekends because I was trying to design on the fly.My next shed project was different. The first had to be torn down because I did not get a building permit nor did I get permission from the home owner’s association and it did not conform to their guidelines.
First lesson, check local building codes and if you belong to any type of home owner’s association get their approval as well. In order to do these two things you need a set of plans. I’ll tell you right now that the time and trouble saved buy just purchasing a good set of plans versus creating your own is well worth it.
